Up until that point, the book was a 4 star for me. I will admit, it took me about 150 pages to get fully immersed into the story. I have only watched movies and tv shows about it. ![]() But I have never read something about the Old Hollywood. Also, historical fiction about wars and stuff, which is more recent. But not this kind of historical fiction, the Outlander and Ross Poldark kind of historical fiction. I love it in every form, books, tv shows, movies. Historical fiction is my favorite genre of all time. But as Evelyn’s story catches up with the present, it becomes clear that her life intersects with Monique’s own in tragic and irreversible ways. As Evelyn’s life unfolds through the decades-revealing a ruthless ambition, an unexpected friendship, and a great forbidden love-Monique begins to feel a very a real connection to the actress. It's 12:36am, I have to wake up in 7 hours or so and I'm casually reading this book. I want to hug and kiss this book till I bleed. I'm irrevocably astonished and astounded. I have nothing negative to say about this book.
